First Museum

We visited the Dallas Museum of Art today with Gaby and Evan.

Cooper loved abstract but failed to see the beauty in impressionism.  Oh well...I guess he'll grow :-).

 Yes...that is an Asian puppet.
The DMA knocked Coop out.  Notice his favorite nap pose.

We are definitely looking forward to our next trip.  They have a lot of fun activities and classes for kiddo's!

Happy Easter

We're closing Cooper's 1st Easter with a blog update :-).

We had a wonderful time with Ry's family.  I was a walking zombie thanks to the 3 am wake up call, but we all made it without any temper tantrums.  Go Cooper.

We definitely missed seeing Granddad and Granny.  We're looking forward to next year.  Hopefully, we will get to see Mawmaw and the Shrum side :-).

I am scrunching a photo recap of Bryan and Beth's announcement, Cooper's first haircut, and Easter.  That should catch me up.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Matulnes BBQ

The news:  BABY #3.  Yes, these are the faces of 2 very busy parents :-).  Sooo...excited for another munchkin.

I made their reveal cake.  It's an EPT test.  Yes, I realize how unappetizing the decoration was after the fact.

 Hugs.
Friends!  Little Miss Maddie Moo and Coop.
Slow your roll Coop Coop!  No dating until college!

Cooper's First Haircut

He didn't cry.  In true Cooper fashion, he stared intently the whole cut.  He kept trying to figure out what Anthony was up to.

Yay!  Mommy's damage is contained.

Cooper's First Easter

Again, my son is a thinker.  There was no temper tantrum or smile.  We handed him over to a huge, white, googly eyed bunny and all my son did was stare and point.  Calm as ever.  Too funny.

 I need a hat.

Mere and Coop.  With Ry's original Easter basket.
 Hard to get egg.

Linda and baby Charles.  Cooper has competition, 14 pounds of cuteness at 2 months!  I just love pudgy babies!

Trouble

Pinot is Cooper's favorite new toy; he pulls, chews, and chases.

Every once in awhile Pinot looks up at me expectantly, silently asking "can I bite him now?"

Peek-A-Boo

At 8 months, Cooper is more communicative.
You can no longer drink from a water bottle without sharing.  If you try, you will be met with high pitched yelping and ninja like karate chops.
His new favorite game is peek-a-boo.  Often times, he initiates the game.  He finds a blanket, covers his head, and proceeds to grunt until you play.

Romance Post Baby

Ah, romance.  Once up on a time, romance comprised of a bouquet of your favorite flowers, followed by reservations for a candlelit dinner at your favorite restaurant, ending with tickets to the latest movie/concert/show.  Add in a couple spa massage and you have the mother of all date nights.
Romance tends to change post baby.
Now:

The new boquet:  A boquet of lemon scented, freshly clean dishes.  Simply beautiful.

The new candlelit dinner:  A boxed dinner with step by step easy directions so that I don't have to:  A. Provide detailed manual instructions to a frustrated husband who doesn't understand how to lightly sauté.  B.  Risk bodily harm from a hard headed husband who instead of ask questions would rather wing it (funny story about unpackaged ground beef floating in the kitchen sink to "thaw").  An added bonus if you can find a boxed dinner that requires only 1 pot and minimum utensils (you’d be surprised of the many ways your husband will attempt to use his BBQ tools).
The new movie/concert/show:  Pre-recorded tv shows you've been DVRing but have yet to catch up on.

The new spa massage:  Meet masseuse Ryan and masseuse Cassie.
Romance changes.  Perhaps the most romantic thing of all is the effort to keep it alive no matter the substitutions :-).

Cheers to Kevin and Mere

We celebrated Kevin and Mere's birthday on their actual birthday on Tuesday (this rarely happens).

The Clair's enjoyed Campisi's and the now mandatory bundt cake.

The highlights of the evening:

Gigi's inappropriate card to Kevin
Mere's new chairs
Cooper's snazzy outfit
A hilarious incident with Kevin and Roxy (his dog)
The cake
And to the birthday folks themselves celebrating another year wiser

Never say Never

Ever since Cooper entered the world, I find myself eating my words:

"I could never be a stay at home mom"
"I don't do drool"
"I only want 1"
"Who goes to bed before 10 in their twenties"
"Organic is too expensive to be worth it"
"I will never start a blog"

I have to keep this post short so I can attend to my drooling Coop, who is a mess after eating homemade organic apples with brown rice.  Good thing I am a stay at home mom who went to bed at 9:00 pm so I would have enough energy to contemplate having more.

Welcome to our blog. A place where we never thought we'd be and a happiness we never knew existed.
